Audio cassette, generally 60 or 90 minutes in duration (30 or 45 minutes per side)


Micro Audio cassette used in dictaphones, 30 or 60 minute duration


8mm Video, Hi8, Digital 8. Duration 30, 60, 90 or 120 minutes, depends on recording speed SP or LP.


VHS C format, requires a cassette adaptor to work in a normal VCR, 30 or 45 minute duration. We have a cassette adaptor.


VHS or SVHS, durations from 15 to 240 minutes, also dependant on recording speed, SP or LP, LP doubles duration. A 3 hour tape could be as long as 6 hours if recorded in the LP mode.


Mini DV, 60 minutes in duration, 90 in LP mode


Umatic, 3/4 inch format, durations from 5 to 90 minutes. Two formats, high and low band.


8 and Super 8 Film, 50 ft reel = approximately 4 minutes, 200 ft reel = approximately 20 minutes.
200 ft reel similar in size to audio reel.


Betamax, Betacam, Digital Betacam. Similar cassette appearance, but vastly different machinery. We can do them all.

We do not charge for tape repair and cleaning if we are converting your tapes.

If you would like us to repair your cassette and not have us do the conversion for you, there is a repair charge of $10 per cassette, but this price does depend on the overall condition of the cassette. Terms and conditions apply to this service, please call or email for more information

 

We only use professional tape splicing films. Normal adhesive tapes have a chemical reaction with magnetic tape and cause damage to the tape surrounding the splice point. Our tape is sourced from professional tape supply companies and is supplied in the exact width required for most video tapes.
We also make use of custom built and commercially available machinery to ensure that the tape is properly aligned when spliced. Our specialised cleaning equipment removes mould and mildew from the tape surface and edges.
We also stock empty cassette casings for most formats.

                        











 

In most instances we are able to rescue most if not all video footage.
We will assess and advise accordingly, there is no fee for assessment of cassettes.
